United Medical Centers (UMC)

United Medical Centers (UMC) is a Community Health Center providing primary health care services to both insured and uninsured, in a bilingual, bicultural community. Our tri-county service area encompasses Maverick, Val Verde, and Kinney counties, and is located in Southwest Texas on the U.S. Mexico Border.

UMC maintains eight Medical Clinic sites and offers Pediatric, OB/GYN, Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, Podiatry and Dental Services. In addition, the Center offers in-house services such as Laboratory, Pharmacy, Radiology, Social Services, Family Planning, WIC, HIV/AIDS testing and counseling.

Founded in 1973, United Medical Centers celebrates 32 years of service in 2005!

OUR MISSION: United Medical Centers (UMC) is an independent non-profit corporation whose main objective is to improve the quality of life through the provision of comprehensive healthcare services.

UMC believes that access to health care is a right, not a privilege. Therefore, we strive to ensure that our doors are open to all individuals in our communities. We make this possible by offering a discount which is based on the patients' ability to pay and residency status. The sliding-fee discount could include 20%, 40%, 60%, or 80%.

Online Services

United Medical Centers is now offering online health services through our Patient Portal. These services include appointment scheduling, access to medical records, medication renewals, and more.  If you are currently a patient with our practice and interested in signing up for these services, please stop by a UMC office near you to request a PIN which is required to register on the portal.
